New PC Software Checklist
A new PC does not need a hundred apps. Start with a browser, compression, office/media and a password manager, then add dev/design/gaming tools by use; every extra background app adds updates and attack surface.
Basics
Browser: Chrome or Firefox.
Compression: 7-Zip; office: LibreOffice or WPS.
